Marathon expands environmentally friendly GreenBuilt™ product line

Attendees of Waste Expo 2007 who visited Marathon Equipment’s exhibit space were introduced to the newly expanded environmentally friendly GreenBuilt™ product line. In September 2006, Marathon introduced to market the GreenBuilt™ RJ–250SC Ultra self–contained compactor. The Ultra utilizes cushioned ground rollers and biodegradable oil, lessening the compactor’s physical and auditory impact on its environment. The unit is also equipped with a 5 HP submerged power unit that offers speed and performance comparable to 10HP units while using 50% less power. In early 2007, a solar–powered power unit was made available under the GreenBuilt™ banner. The solar unit’s performance is also comparable to 10HP units with 100% of the power supplied by solar panels (a 100 VAC backup charger is used to charge batteries when needed.) It does not require three–phase power and is equipped with two DC motors powered by batteries.
